DESCRIPTION:It's the Southern Oregon Historical Society's\n15th Annual Scarecrow & Harvest Festival! \nSeptember 19 & 20\, from 10am to 4pm\nSOHS Hanley Farm\n1053 Hanley Road\, Central Point \nJoin the Southern Oregon Historical Society between 10am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday\, September 19 and 20\, at SOHS Hanley Farm's for our 15th Annual “Scarecrow and Harvest Festival!” Hanley Farm is located at 1053 Hanley Road\, Central Point\, just a mile outside of Jacksonville. Admission is FREE! \nMake a scarecrow to protect your home and gardens from any prowling “witches\, ghosties\, and ghoulies”—or to add to your fall decor! Scarecrow kits will be available for $20 ($15 for SOHS members) and include everything needed to make a full-size\, old-fashioned\, straw-stuffed scarecrow. Take your finished scarecrow home OR enter it in the “People's Choice” scarecrow contest and pick it up on Sunday at 3pm. There's also a special category of “Business” and “Retirement Home” scarecrows this year. Companies and organizations can enter a scarecrow that advertises their business or have SOHS volunteers make one for them.  \nPlus there will be loads of free family-fun activities including pumpkin painting\, apple bobbing\, cider-making\, paper quilt square making\, children's games\, and much more! Take a fall family photo with the big pumpkin. Enjoy a self-guided tour of Hanley Farm's gardens and grounds. \nFor additional information\, call Alice Mullaly at 541-531-1443 or e-mail lmullaly@jeffnet.org \nBusiness and Retirement Home Scarecrow Contest \nThe Southern Oregon Historical Society is offering a unique way to promote your organization with a Business or Retirement Home Scarecrow Contest! \nOver 1\,000 people attend this FREE family event to make and vote on their favorite scarecrows and you can be part of it! \nAdvertise your business or retirement home with a scarecrow of your own making or have SOHS make one for you. All organization scarecrows will be on display for the duration of the festival\, easily seen from Hanley Road\, and then available for your own use. The winner of the most “People's Choice” votes will receive a trophy and be featured on SOHS and Hanley Farm social media.
