About

Explore the biggest hunt for fugitives in the remote mountains of Southern Oregon and Northern California's Siskiyous region. Discover how newspapers nationwide presented the key players, facts, and the harsh terrain that made this landscape a seductive refuge for those evading the law.

Laura Ahearn, president of McKee Bridge Historical Society and curator of the Virtual Museum at mckeebridge.org, presents this lunchtime lecture. Part of the monthly Windows in Time lecture series jointly sponsored by the Southern Oregon Historical Society (SOHS) and Jackson County Library Services.
